1. Malyali wedding
It takes place in the morning. It is a short, sweet and crisp ceremony. The most prime location for a Malayali wedding is the maternal house of the bride but with evolution people have started celebrating it in a nearby temple or any other suitable place. Whether it is a grand or be it a small one, the rituals remain rigid in Malayalis. Some of the customs is following them and are seeking the blessings, welcoming the bride & groom, the nuptial ceremony.
It generally celebrates with the Hindu customs. The bride and groom sit in front of a pious fire and chant mantras right after the priests. Bengali marriage is generally four to five days long. 3. Buddhist wedding

5: Jain wedding
The Jain pre wedding ceremony of Mada Mandap takes place at the bride’s as well as groom’s residence. The groom also asks to apply tika on his brother-in-law’s forehead and give him a coconut. Married women from the bride’s side perform traditional aarti and sing songs during this ceremony.
6: Christian wedding
Christian marriage takes place in a church or chapel in the presence of a priest or minister who represents the presence of God, leads the couple in expressing their commitment to each other through the taking of vows, and blesses their union.
7: Gujrati wedding
Gujarati weddings are fun events where the relatives on both sides meet initially to exchange marriage cards by Parekh Cards. 8: Kannada wedding
Kannada marriage are mostly seen happening in Bangalore, Karnataka. These marriages are typically simple in nature without much bling and show. They are shorter in duration and is a 2-3 day event. Day weddings are a relish to watch and Kannada marriages also host during the day time.
9: Kashmiri wedding
Kashmiri Weddings are full of joyful and traditional ceremonies. The first step towards a Kashmiri marriage is the matching of the horoscopes or teknis of the prospective bride and groom. Emphasis is also laid into matching the background, status, and reputation of the family of the prospective match. Once the alliance is finalized, the bride’s parents propose the marriage date. When the groom’s parents also give their consent, the purohit fixes the marriage date. The marriage can take place in the morning or in the night.
10: Marwari wedding
A Marwari or Baniya Roka is similar to a Punjabi Roka ceremony when is basically the official union of both the families. Parents from both families perform Tilak as a blessing to the bride and the groom and then they exchange gifts.
11: Maharashtrian wedding
Maharashtrian wedding ritual involves the father of the bride giving his daughter’s hand to the groom. The groom then ties a mangalsutra around the neck of the bride and applies sindoor on her hair parting. The bride applies a chandan (sandalwood) tikka on the groom’s forehead.

13: Muslim wedding
The actual Muslim wedding is known as a nikah. It is a simple ceremony, at which the bride does not have to be present so long as she sends two witnesses to the drawn-up agreement. Normally, the ceremony consists of reading from the Qur’an, and the exchange of vows in front of witnesses for both partners.
14: Punjabi wedding
This ceremony is an evening festival, at the couple’s parental homes. It consists of many rites, the Batna, Choora, Jaggo fireworks and sometimes the Ladies Sangeet and Mehndi. The mayian happens the night before the wedding and is celebrated according to which part of Punjab the participants are from.
15: Sikh wedding
The Sikh marriage is a very colourful and unique ceremony in which two individuals are joined in a partnership of two equals. The couple will marry in front of the Guru Granth Sahib in Gurudwara while the guests gather around the couple, usually with men on one side and women on the other.
16: Bihari wedding
On the day of the Bihari wedding, the mother of the groom performs Paricchavan or aarti. The whole ritual is conducted before the Baratis leave for the marriage. During aarti, the mother also applies tilak on the groom’s forehead and prays for a trouble-free marriage and a happy married life for the couple.
